Nicole Thorpe is the founding Director of Cultinova / Experior Micro Technologies. Her mission is to leverage ICT and Internet of Things technology to contribute to improving the way we produce and consume our food, design our cities and look after our health and the environment around us.
We start the episode by talking about Cultinova and the role of the company in creating a more sustainable world for food production and living – an Earth Day special! We explore Urban Agriculture, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and what this means for communities, finishing the first half discussing how much further we can take IoT in CEA. We then move on to all things Girls in I.T., discussing the progression of women in the industry, Nicole’s experience as a woman in Tech and how we can inspire more girls to become involved in the technology industries. π©βπ»
